Whiskey Guns and Irish Beer

Text und Musik: Michael M. Jung

The wind was blowing through my hair when I walked down to Dublin

my life has changed when I met you but now you’re gone

In Dublin I commited crimes as no one did before

the Judges gave me 16 years but never changed my mind

I grabbed my gun and left the jail to start a new career

my only friends are whiskey now my gun and Irish beer

I don’t wanna pay the price of love

I don’t wanna pay for you

I don’t wanna fight in someone’s war

I don’t wanna care at all

The night came it began to rain

when I returned to Dublin

my girl still lingered in my brain

there’s no way to forget

I held my gun just in my hand

to take away my fear

my only friends are whiskey now my gun and Irish beer

The morning came no way to sleep

somewhere there in Dublin

I would have liked to meet my girl

and took the way back home

My head it aches the sun’s so bright

the city is in my rear

my only friend were whiskey there my gun and Irish beer

Now I wanna pay the price of love

Now I wanna pay for you

I don’t wanna fight in someone’s war

I just wanna fight for you
