The Love That I’ll Never Forget

Text und Musik: Michael M. Jung

In my memories I can always see

the smile in your face and the grace in your soul

we’ve been friends for years and we shared our youth

in the town we’ve been living so long

And we walked the road always hand in hand

it was nothing between us but love

when I close my eyes I will always see

the love that I’ll never forget

In my memories I still feel your first kiss

it was June and the air smelled like roses and thyme

we’ve been down by the bridge at the end of our town

and we feel like a rainbow so sweet

And I never expect anything else of life

but the time that we’ve had in those days

so I close my eyes and I always see

the love that I’ll never forget

So the years went by and our love still remains

but the land seems to bleed under hatred and war

you’ve been fighting for me and the town that we live

and I feel that I’ll see you no more

It was dark dark night when they burned our house

and that was the end of my life

but when I close my eyes I will always see

the love that I’ll never forget
